Characteristics

Tufted herb to 10 cm high; up to 5 tufts from rootstock. Leaves somewhat fleshy, usually linear to terete, 4.5-11 cm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, sometimes narrowly lanceolate or narrowly spathulate, then 3-6.5 cm long, 1.5-3 mm wide, entire. Flowering stalks 2.5-7 cm long, usually shorter than leaves; heads compact. Sepals 2.5-3.5 mm long. Petals 6.5-8 mm long, light blue through mauve or pink to cream; wings almost equal, 0.5-1 mm wide. Ovary 2.5-4 mm long; style 2.5-5 mm long; indusium glabrous. Fruit and seeds not seen.
