Characteristics

Stipes very dark at the base, then brown or reddish brown grading on adaxial grooved surface to fawn-brown becoming paler stramineous for the remainder usually on both surfaces. Rhachis and costae usually pale stramineous, glabrous, sometimes brown or reddish brown, usually darker on abaxial surface and more so for fertile fronds. Fertile pinnae 10.5-25 by 0.3-0.5 cm.
