Home
Annual herb to 40 cm. or more tall, erect; stem branched, mainly about middle, more or less densely white pilose; branches ascending, up to 20 cm. long.
Spike 8.5–10.5 cm. long overall, terminal, upper part densely-flowered, thick, 3–6 cm. long, lax below with flowers up to 40 mm. apart.
Calyx 5–6 mm. long, strongly hispid-scabrid, 10-nerved, 5-lobed; lobes c. 1.5 mm. long, narrowly lanceolate, acute.
Corolla white; tube c. 5 mm. long, slender, cylindric, sparsely pubescent; lobes 1–1.5 x c. 0.8 mm., obovate.
Bracts 4–5.5 x 2–4 mm., broadly ovate-elliptic, acute, pubescent, ciliate, strongly nerved.
Bracteoles 4–4.5 x 0.75 mm., linear-lanceolate, acute, sparsely hispid, short ciliate.
Capsule 5–5.5 x 2 mm., cylindric-ovoid, shortly apiculate.
