Characteristics

Corolla blue-violet; tube 6–7 mm. long, glabrous without, throat not evidently pilose; limb 6–7 mm. in diam.; lobes 3–5 mm. long, up to 2.25 mm. wide, entire or emarginate, or bifid at apex.

Slender, annual, semiparasitic herb, up to 200 mm tall. Stem and branches filiform. Leaves opposite, linear. Spikes glabrous except for ciliolate bracts. Flowers purplish or blue.
