Calyx 6–7(9) mm. long, obscurely 10-ribbed, 5-lobed, sparsely appressed hispid with forwardly directed hairs, becoming subglabrous; lobes 1.2–1.5 mm. long, linear-lanceolate, not spreading after flowering.
Annual herbs to c. 7.5 cm. tall, erect, ascending or prostrate; stems many, 3–7.5 cm. long arising from a short woody base, terete, minutely, sparsely hispid.
Leaves subopposite or alternate, 11–35 mm. long, 2–3(7) mm. wide, oblong-spathulate, obtuse, glabrous occasionally sparsely short hispid on nerves beneath.
Inflorescence with comparatively few flowers, clustered at ends of branches, lengthening only slightly to 2.5 cm. at fruiting.
Bracteoles 3–3.8 mm. long, 0.2–0.4 mm. wide, linear to narrowly linear-lanceolate, sparsely short ciliate to glabrous.
Bracts (2.5)4 mm. long, ovate-lanceolate, subacuminate, shortly hispid.
Capsule c. 4 mm. long, 2.3 mm. in diam., compressed ovoid-oblong.
