Characteristics

Leaves: upper cauline opposite or alternate, 12–20 x c. 1 mm., narrowly linear, entire, obtuse, 1-nerved, hispid-scabrid especially beneath, margins somewhat involute, lower cauline to 30 x 5 mm., oblong, entire, obtuse; basal leaves c. 3 x 2 mm., obovate, 1-nerved, densely white hispid.

Corolla blue; tube 9.5–10.5 mm. long, glabrous, c. 1 mm. wide at base, widening to 2.5–3 mm. at throat; limb 9–14 mm. in diam.; lobes c. 6 x 4.5–5 mm., rotund-obovate.
Calyx 5.5–6 mm. long, laxly patent white hirsute, 5-lobed, 10-nerved; lobes 1–1.8 mm. long, narrowly triangular, acute.
Capsule c. 4.8 x 2 mm., cylindric-ovoid, truncate, shortly rostrate.
Bracts 3–4 x 1–1.5 mm., ovate-lanceolate, acute, hirsute, ciliate.
Inflorescence spicate with spikes 5–9 mm. long at fruiting.
