Characteristics

Basal leaves 20–40 x 10–26 mm., broadly elliptic, entire, sparsely to slighdy densely hispid-scabrid, 3–5(7)-nerved; lower cauline leaves opposite, 15–45 x 2.5–5 mm., upper leaves alternate, 15–53 x 2–5(8) mm., all linear-oblong to lanceolate, obtuse, entire, hispid-scabrid to long pilose-scabrid, 3-nerved, uppermost obscurely so.

Corolla pale blue, through darker blue to pink; tube c. 10 mm. long, slender, pilose above and without, throat pilose; lobes (3)5–7 mm. long, up to 5 mm. wide, obovate.
Spike 10–35 mm. long, up to 18 mm. broad with flowers densely compacted, not markedly quadrangular, densely white silky-pilose.
Calyx 7–8 mm. long, cylindrical, densely pilose, 4-lobed; lobes c. 2 mm. long, subulate-lanceolate.
