Leaf-lamina deep green above, somewhat paler below, (3) 4–9 (14·5) × 1·6–5 cm., elliptic to oblong or ovate-lanceolate, narrowly acuminate to subcaudate at the apex, with margin shallowly to rather deeply crenulate-serrulate, cuneate to rounded at the base, papyraceous to chartaceous, with midrib prominent on both sides, 6–7 lateral nerves and reticulate venation not or scarcely prominent; petiole 4–9 mm. long; stipules c. 1·5 mm. long, lanceolate, fimbriate.

Flowers c. 10–25, slightly scented, in corymbose axillary dichasia 1·5–3 (3·5) cm. long; peduncles and inflorescence-branches 4-winged, smooth; buds 1–1·5 mm. long, subglobose; pedicels 2–4 mm. long, smooth or rugulose; lower bracts (2) 3–4 mm. long, linear to narrowly triangular, upper bracts c. 1 mm. long, ovate-triangular, acute, ciliate.

Sepals c. 1 mm. long, broadly ovate, rounded, with margin eroded-denticulate, united at the base.
Stamens 5, with filaments united at the base; anthers reddish, introrse, 4-lobed.
Ovary with 3 very short sessile divergent stigmas; ovules 5–9 per loculus.
Seeds winged, with veins marginal and submedian.
