Flowers c. 10–25, slightly scented, in corymbose axillary dichasia 1·5–3 (3·5) cm. long; peduncles and inflorescence-branches 4-winged, smooth; buds 1–1·5 mm. long, subglobose; pedicels 2–4 mm. long, smooth or rugulose; lower bracts (2) 3–4 mm. long, linear to narrowly triangular, upper bracts c. 1 mm. long, ovate-triangular, acute, ciliate.
Liane or scandent shrub up to 24 m. high, glabrous; stems greenish-purple to reddish-purple, smooth and narrowly 4-winged when young, becoming rugose-lenticellate, terete and eventually greyish.
Petals white to yellow turning yellow to orange, 2–3·2 mm. long, oblong to elliptic-oblong, rounded, entire.
Sepals c. 1 mm. long, broadly ovate, rounded, with margin eroded-denticulate, united at the base.
Stamens 5, with filaments united at the base; anthers reddish, introrse, 4-lobed.
Ovary with 3 very short sessile divergent stigmas; ovules 5–9 per loculus.
Seeds winged, with veins marginal and submedian.
Mericarps 4–6 × 2·2–4 cm., ovate, 4–9-seeded.
