Perennial (?) herb. Rootstock unknown, presumed to be perennial, with a cluster of fleshy, subfusiform roots. Stem 1, unbranched or sparsely branched from near base, shortly and softly pubescent, basal internodes 20-40 mm long, progressively shorter above. Flowers ±2, extra-axillary, opening in succession. Sepals linear-lanceolate, ±4 mm long, pubescent. Corolla 9-11 mm long, lobed almost to base, united for 1.5 mm; lobes linear-lanceolate, with margins ± replicate, finely pubescent on outer surface, glabrous on inner surface. Corona arising ±1/3 up staminal column, campanulate below, 1.75-2 mm broad, forming 5 pockets with outer margin entire; inner lobes represented by 5 swellings within tube at base of filaments; anthers oblong, slightly narrowed at middle.
