Characteristics

Perennial herb. Tuber subglobose, 20-40 mm diam. Stems 1-2, erect, up to about 60 mm tall, slender, slightly flexuose, unbranched or sparingly branched from near base, reddish, minutely puberulous, with decurved hairs. Leaves linear-elliptic, oblong or lanceolate, up to about 25 mm long, 2-7 mm broad, subsessile, somewhat fleshy, keeled, minutely papillose on margin and keel. Flowers 4-7 together in axillary or slightly extra-axillary fascicles; pedicels up to about 5 mm long, slender, sparsely puberulous. Sepals linear-lanceolate, about 1.5 mm long, glabrous or sparsely puberulous. Corolla 3-4 mm long with campanulate tube and slightly prominent sinuses; tube 1-1.25 mm deep, 1.25 mm diam. at mouth; lobes oblong-ovate, 2-3 mm long, 1-1.5 mm broad at base, ascending-incurved, white with green or brown, slightly thickened tips. Corona lime-green, with basal tube ±1 mm deep, forming 5 pockets within and outer margin e x tending into 2 lobules ±0.5 mm long; inner lobes arising from within tube, incumbent on backs of anthers, ±0.5 mm long. Pollinia ± pyriform with up to 1/3 of inner margin translucent, attached from near middle by short, delicate caudicles to carrier; carrier with short, broad wings from lower half.

Leaves linear-elliptic to linear-lanceolate, 25 x 2-7 mm, fleshy, almost sessile. Flowers 1-7, in extra axillary fascicles nodding; pedicel up to 5 mm long. Corolla small, campanulate; tube 1.00-1.25 mm long, mouth small (± 1.25 mm in diam., but with prominent sinuses; lobes spreading, oblong-ovate, 2-3 x 1.0-1.5 mm, white at base, apex thickened, green or brown. Corona small, lime-green; interstaminal corona lobes fused at base into a shallow, ± 1 mm deep, circumgynostegial saucer shallowly v-shaped, cleft at pockets; staminal corona lobes erect, ligulate-triangular, fused at base to interstaminal corona, incumbent on stamen but not connivent. Anther appendages large, ligulate and dilated apically to meet in top of style apex.
