Characteristics

Perennial herb. Tuber considerably depressed, up to ±70 mm diam. Stems 1-2(-4), unbranched or sparsely branched above, up to 100 mm tall, puberulous with decurved hairs. Leaves petiolate, broadly ovate to subcircular, 5-15(-25) x 5-15(-20) mm, puberulous on lower surface, glabrous above; petiole 2-8 mm long, grooved down upper surface. Flowers 1-2, extra-axillary; pedicels 8-12(-15) mm long, slightly decurved. Sepals linear-lanceolate, ±2 mm long. Corolla rotate or star-shaped, light yellow, 18-22 mm diam., united at base for 1.5 mm and slightly raised in middle into a small cushion; lobes linear-lanceolate, 8-10 mm long, spreading, with margins recurved, puberulous outside, glabrous within. Corona thick, disc-like around top of staminal column, 5-grooved opposite pollinia; inner lobes represented by cushion-1ike swellings on inside of disc at base of anthers. Pollinia ±0.25 mm long, with translucent upper margin, attached by very short caudicles to wingless carrier.
