Characteristics

Perennial herb. Tuber (not seen), producing a robust stem up to about 0.25 mm tall, sparingly branched, 4-5 mm diam. near base, hirsute with spreading hairs 1-1.5 mm long; internodes 20-40 mm long. Leaves more or less oblong, 10-15 x 3-5 mm, with margins somewhat folded upwards and slightly undulate, contracted towards the base into a short or obsolete petiole. Flowers usually 2 together at nodes, spreading or suberect. Sepals lanceolate, 2-25 mm long. Corolla 16-18 mm long, with basal united portion saucer-shaped; tube 1-15 mm long; lobes united at tips, with lanceolate base, then contracted to 0.5 mm and again slightly expanded to 1 mm broad at tips, hirsute on backs in lower half and thinly so above, glabrous within. Corona arising about 0.75 mm above base of staminal column with outer lobes about 1.5 mm long, deeply divided into linear lobules; inner lobes oblong, incumbent on backs of anthers and slightly exceeding them, slightly thickened on back near base.
