Characteristics

Perennial herb. Tuber 20-50 mm broad and about 20 mm high, subglobose-depressed, with 1-2 underground stems up to 50 mm long. Stems 1-4, up to 60 mm long, branched, erect or spreading, thinly pubescent. Leaves oblong to linear-oblong, 15-25 x 2-4 mm, tapered to base, decreasing in size upwards, pubescence mainly along margins. Flowers usually 2 from a node; pedicels slender, 10-35 mm long, thinly pubescent. Sepals lanceolate, 3-3.5 mm long. Corolla up to 15 mm long, tubular at base; tube campanulate, up to 4.5 mm long and 4.5 mm diam. at mouth; lobes linear from an ovate-lanceolate base, about 10 mm long, with recurved margins, ciliate below middle with comparatively long hairs. Corona about 2 mm high, tubular-campanu-1ate, forming 5 pockets with V-shaped outer margin and laterally confluent with base of inner lobes; inner lobes linear, incumbent on backs of anthers.
