Characteristics

Perennial herb. Tuber up to 130 mm diam., slightly depressed, ±100 mm thick, irregularly shaped. Stems several, suberect or spreading, 70-200 mm long, shortly puberulous. Leaves shortly petiolate, usually broadly ovate or elliptic-ovate, 25-50 x 20-40 mm, glabrous except for few hairs on lower surface of margin and on veins; petiole 5-10 mm long, grooved above, puberulous. Flowers 1-2, extra-axillary on both sides of petiole; pedicels 5-15 mm long, shortly pubescent. Sepals linear-lanceolate, 4 mm long. Corolla bright greenish-yellow, 20-23 mm long, divided 3/4 of length, with tips of lobes insecurely united or sometimes free; tube campanulate, ±5 mm long, 8 mm diam., glabrous or with few scattered hairs outside; lobes linear-lanceolate, ±17 mm long with margins pinched inwards above base and slightly undulate above. Corona arising slightly above base of staminal column, with outer lobes deeply divided, giving effect of 10 upright lobules somewhat higher than column, with outer lobes deeply divided, giving effect of 10 upright lobules somewhat higher than column, with scattered long hairs; inner lobes arising between outer ones and considerably overtopping column. Pollinia about 0.35 mm long, subrotund with translucent inner margin.
