Characteristics

Short, slender tussock with long prostrate stems often forming large patches. Leaf-sheath to 10 cm, glabrous, frequently reddened. Ligule 0.25 mm. Leaf-blade to 25 cm × 3 mm, drawn out into long tapering, thin, straight or often somewhat twisting, pointed apex. Culm to 50 cm, internodes glabrous. Lemma to 5.5 mm with dense hairs only on margin and aside central nerve. Plate 8E.
