Annual, sprawling or creeping herb 0.3–1 m high.. Stem weak, distinctly 4-angled, angles narrowly winged.. Leaves ovate to cordate, 15–40 mm long, 12–30 mm wide, acute, amplexicaul, with 3–5 distinct veins beneath.. Inflorescences lax, few-flowered cymes; pedicels 15–50 mm long; bracts linear, acute.. Flowers pinkish.. Calyx with narrow dorsal wing; tube ± 2 mm long; lobes ovate-lanceolate, 6–10 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, acuminate, slightly narrowed towards the base, margin hyaline.. Corolla tube 4–7 mm long; lobes ovate, lanceolate, (10–)11–18 mm long, 3–8 mm wide, acute.. Filaments inserted on corolla tube just below sinuses, 1.5–3.5 mm long; anthers 3.5–5 mm long, yellow, spirally twisted to left..
