Characteristics

Roots fibrous from a short taproot. Stem 1.5–13 cm high. Basal leaves linear, 2–15 mm long, 2 mm wide, acute, withered at flowering time. Stem leaves linear, to c. 5 mm long. Inflorescence 1–4 (–9)-flowered; pedicels 0.5–5 cm long. Flowers 5–7 mm long. Calyx tube not sharply keeled, c. 2 mm long, membranous between lobes; lobes deltate, 1–1.5 mm long, mucronate. Corolla tube c. 2 mm long; corolla limb rotate; lobes ±orbicular. Anthers c. 0.3 mm long. Ovary c. 1.8 mm long; stigma scarcely 2-lobed. Capsule 3–4 mm long. Seeds angular-oblong, c. 0.3 mm long, greyish brown.
