Cormous, acaulescent geophyte, up to 250 mm high. Leaves in a basal rosette, spreading; blade narrowly ovate, up to 440 mm long, channelled, grading into bracts. Flowers: enclosed in green and white bracts; stamens twice as long as perianth limbs; perianth with blade 8.519.0 mm long, concave at base, blade much shorter than claw, 10.5-35.0 mm long, dull white; Jun.-Aug.
Soft cormous herb, sessile, with leaves and bracts keeled. Proper leaves 4, lanceolate-acuminate, up to 300 mm long. Tepal blades less than half as long as claw. Flowers maroon.
