Characteristics

Erect undershrub to 1 m tall, glandular-hairy, ±viscid. Leaves linear, revolute, entire or nearly so, with scattered stellate hairs, becoming scabrid; lamina 1-3 cm long, mostly 1-2 mm wide. Inflorescence with pedicels to 20 mm long; bracteoles above the middle. Sepals lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, 3-4 mm long, adnate to lower 1/2 of ovary. Corolla to 15 mm long, glandular-and stellate-pubescent outside, blue to mauve; lobes unequal; wings c. 1 mm wide; adaxial lobes with bristles near posterior margin only. Ovules 2, almost basal. Capsule cylindrical to ovoid, 5-7 mm long, valves entire. Seeds ellipsoidal, 4-5 mm long.
