Characteristics

Erect undershrub to 1.5 m tall. Leaves elliptic, dentate or entire with margin almost flat, stellate-pubescent with a few glandular hairs; lamina 4-9 cm long, 10-25 mm wide. Inflorescence with pedicels to 20 mm long; bracteoles close under flower. Sepals linear-elliptic, 4-6 mm long, adnate to ovary towards base. Corolla to 15 mm long, stellate and glandular pubescent outside, mauve to almost pink; lobes unequal; wings c. 1 mm wide; adaxial lobes with bristles near posterior margin only. Ovules 2, basal. Capsule obovoid, 5-6 mm long, valves entire. Seeds obloid, 4-5 mm long.
