Characteristics

Ascending shrub to 1 m tall. Leaves flat, narrowly elliptic to oblong, attenuate towards base, dentate, glandular-hairy becoming scabrid; lamina 4-8 cm long, 5-10 mm wide. Inflorescence with pedicels to 15 mm long; bracteoles above the middle. Sepals ovate to lanceolate, 5-6 mm long, adnate to lower half of ovary. Corolla to 16 mm long, stellate-and glandular-hairy outside, 'purple-pink'; lobes unequal; wings c. 2 mm wide; adaxial lobes with bristles near posterior margin only. Ovules 2-4, almost basal. Capsule and seeds not seen.
