Characteristics

Stiff, robust perennial to 1 m tall, glabrous except flowers; stem with narrow wings. Leaves sessile, ovate to elliptic with broad base, dentate; lamina 12-41 mm long, 5-23 mm wide. Flowers in cymes; inflorescence branches to 3 together, each bearing to 12 flowers, to 6 cm long; pedicel 3.5-5.2 mm long; bracteoles linear-oblong, 3.2-4.7 mm long. Sepals almost obsolete. Corolla to 12 mm long; hairs outside fine, appressed, type iv, grey; wings 3.5-4 mm wide, smaller or obsolete above auricle; calli 2-5 per row. Ovary bilocular, glabrous, 3.5-4 mm long. Fruit not seen.
