Characteristics

Erect or ascending perennial to 60 cm tall, glabrous except flowers; stem with rounded angles and 3 distinct grooves. Leaves sessile, often fasciculate in axils and in pseudowhorls, oblong to oblanceolate, entire or slightly dentate; lamina 14-39 mm long, 4-13 mm wide. Flowers in panicles; inflorescence branches clustered in upper axils, to 7-flowered, to 2 cm long, mostly scarcely exceeding leaves; pedicel to 5 mm long; bracteoles linear to oblong-elliptic, 2-3 mm long. Sepals obsolete. Corolla 10-12 mm long; hairs outside appressed, type iv, light brown to grey; wings 2.5-3 mm wide, smaller above auricle; calli 2-5 per row. Ovary 2-2.5 mm long. Fruit to 5 mm long.
