Characteristics

Erect perennial to 60 cm tall, glabrous except flowers or with scattered hairs; stems triangular but also with ribs alternating with the more prominent angles. Leaves oblong-elliptic to lanceolate, dentate; lamina 12-45 mm long, 3-17 mm wide. Flowers in panicles; inflorescence branches 1-3 together, usually 1-flowered, to 10 mm long, usually not exceeding leaves; pedicel 3-9 mm long; bracteoles linear-oblong, to 2 mm long. Sepals often unequal, 0.5-1 mm long. Corolla 9-11 mm long; hairs outside, appressed, type iv, dark grey; wings 1-1.5 mm wide, ±equal; calli 5 or 6 per row. Ovary 2.5-3 mm long. Fruit to 7 mm long.
