Characteristics

Erect perennial to 1 m tall, glabrous except flowers; stems 3-winged, each wing 2.5-5 mm wide, distinctly thickened on angle of each wing. Leaves sessile, linear-oblong to lanceolate, entire or with 2-4 small lobes; lamina 11-29 mm long, 2.5-8 mm wide. Flowers in much-branched cymo-panicles; inflorescence branches 1-3 together, each bearing to 12 flowers, to 14 cm long, much exceeding leaves; pedicel 3-4 mm long; bracteoles oblong, 0.7-1.2 mm long. Sepals 0.4-0.5 mm long. Corolla 10-15 mm long; hairs outside fine, appressed, type iii and iv, dark grey; wings 2.7-3 mm wide, smaller above auricle; calli 3 or 4 per row. Ovary bilocular, 2-2.5 mm long. Fruit to 4 mm long.
