Characteristics

Erect perennial to 60 cm tall, glabrous except flowers; stems with acute angles. Leaves sessile, sometimes in pseudowhorls, oblong to lanceolate, entire or dentate; lamina 16-40 mm long, 3-10 mm wide. Flowers in cymo-panicles; inflorescence branches to 5 together, 1-3-flowered, to 3 cm long, usually not exceeding the leaves; pedicel 3-4 mm long; bracteoles oblong, c. 3 mm long. Sepals c. 0.5 mm long. Corolla 10-14 mm long; hairs outside appressed, type iv, dark grey to black; wings 2.5-3 mm wide, smaller above auricle; calli to 3 per row. Ovary 1.7-2.5 mm long, glabrous or glabrescent. Fruit to 5 mm long.
