Characteristics

Erect perennial to 35 cm tall, glabrous except flowers; stem compressed, 2-3 mm wide, with ribs either side. Leaves sessile, linear to oblong, entire; lamina 13-37 mm long, 1-2.5 mm wide. Flowers in panicles; inflorescence branches usually 3 or more together, 1-3-flowered, curved, to 6 cm long; pedicel 1.2-1.7 mm long; bracteoles oblong-elliptic, 1.5-2 mm long. Sepals c. 0.5 mm long, obscured by hairs. Corolla 10-12 mm long; hairs outside appressed, type iii and iv, dark grey; wings 3.5-4 mm wide, smaller above auricle; calli mostly obsolete. Ovary gibbous, tomentose, 1.7-2 mm long. Fruit orbicular, c. 2 mm diam., gibbous, compressed, hairy.
