Characteristics

Erect perennial to 60 cm tall; stem conspicuously ribbed, pale grey tomentose. Leaves sessile, sometimes fasciculate in axils, linear to elliptic, recurved, entire or with few teeth, glabrous above, pale grey tomentose below; lamina 9-30 mm long, 1-6 mm wide. Flowers in cymo-panicles; branches 1 or 2 together, 1-3-flowered, 1-5 mm long; pedicel 1-2 mm long; bracteoles linear-oblong, 3-6 mm long. Sepals hidden beneath hairs, 0.5-1 mm long. Corolla 9-12 mm long; hairs outside fine, mostly type ii, silvery grey; wings 1.5-2.5 mm wide, almost equal; calli obsolete. Ovary 2-2.5 mm long; ovule erect. Fruit obovoid, to 4 mm long.
