Characteristics

Erect, perennial herb to 40 cm tall, glabrous except flowers; stem with blunt angles. Leaves sessile, oblong-lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, entire or toothed; lamina 2.5-9 mm long, 1.5-3 mm wide. Flowers in panicles; inflorescence branches mostly solitary, usually 1-or 2-flowered, to 2.5 cm long; pedicel 1.7-2.5 mm long; bracteoles c. 3 mm long. Sepals to 0.3 mm long. Corolla 9-11 mm long; hairs outside fine, appressed, type iii and iv, silvery-grey; wings 1.2-2 mm wide, smaller above auricle; calli to 3 per row. Ovary 2-2.5 mm long. Fruit not seen.
