Characteristics

Wiry perennial to 40 cm tall, ±papillate. Leaves sessile, sometimes fasciculate in axils, oblong to oblong-elliptic, entire or slightly dentate, glabrescent on both sides; lamina 2-19 mm long, 0.5-5 mm wide. Flowers in almost leafless racemes or panicles; inflorescence branches 1-3 together, 1-4-flowered, mostly to 15 mm long; pedicel 0.5-1.5 mm long; bracteoles oblong, 3-5 mm long. Sepals hidden by hairs, to 0.7 mm long. Corolla 6-8 mm long; hairs outside appressed, type ii, black to pale grey; wings 1.5-2 mm wide, slightly smaller above auricle; calli to 8 per row. Ovary 1-2 mm long; ovule erect. Fruit ovoid, 3-4 mm long.
