Characteristics

Ascending, often delicate herb to 40 cm tall, glabrous except flowers; stem with acute angles. Leaves sessile, mostly linear to lanceolate, entire to slightly lobed; lamina 11-28 mm long, 2-6 mm wide. Flowers in loose, terminal cymo-panicles; inflorescence branches usually solitary, to 2 cm long, usually bearing only 2 flowers; pedicel 1-2 mm long; bracteoles linear to linear-elliptic, c. 4 mm long. Sepals obsolete, or reduced to few stiff hairs. Corolla 7-8 mm long; hairs outside fine, appressed, type iv, grey to blackish; wings 3-3.5 mm wide, ±smaller above auricle; calli 3-7 per row. Ovary bilocular, glabrous, 4.2-5 mm long. Fruit to 5 mm long.
