Characteristics

Plants loosely caespitose. Culms 0.5 m high. Leaf blades 10–20 cm long, 2–3 mm wide. Inflorescences subracemose, contracted. Spikelets 9–10 mm long, with 4–6 florets. Glumes shorter than to equalling florets; lower glume 9 mm long. Lemma 4 mm long, awnless; indumentum on back as a long submarginal line of hairs. Palea elliptic to ovate, glabrous between keels. Anthers 0.3 mm long, entangled in stigmas. Caryopsis 2–2.1 mm long.
