Characteristics

Petals pink, magenta or white, staminodes never black. Leaves triangular in cross section or flat. Robust shrublet to 30 cm, with red, rough branches with short spines at bases of leaf pairs. Leaves subcymbiform, obtuse, papillate. Flowers to 35 mm diam., pink. Fruits with high valves and a central dip, false septa present, covering membranes reduced.
