Characteristics

Subspinosa frutices ramis brevibus pedunculis persistentibus modo [sect.] Spinosa Epapulosorum. Frutex subprostratus-1 m longus decorticans cortice fusco ramis teretibus ramulis brevibus papulosis apice foliis paucis (4-6) rosuiantibus pedunculis pluribus pollicaribus vel in racemo scorpiodeo paucifloro pedicellis pollicaribus post fructificationem persistentibus induratis. Folia plana obovata marcescentia baud connata vix 1 cm longa. Flores rubri. Calyx fructus pentamerus parvus ± 0.5 cm latus.
