Characteristics

Herb with tuber; vertical stolon 4–12 cm long. Stem erect, 10–25 cm long. Leaves dimorphic; basal leaves in a flat rosette, the lamina spathulate, 8–10 mm wide, on petiole 1–2 cm long; cauline leaves scattered or in alternate groups of 2 or 3, the lamina orbicular to broadly reniform, 3–6 mm wide, peltate, on petiole 20–35 mm long (central leaf of 3), or 6–15 mm long (lateral leaves). Inflorescence racemose, often branched, 3–15–flowered; pedicels 4–10 mm long. Sepals broadly lanceolate, 4–6 mm long, laciniate, pubescent. Petals ovate, 5–8 mm long, white, pale pink or red. Styles 3, divided into many branched segments.
