Characteristics

Acaulescent herb forming rosette, no more than 2 cm tall. Leaves spathulate, 5.5-15 mm long, petiole and blade well defined; stipules 4-5 mm long, 3-4-partite; petiole 3-10 x 0.3-0.8 mm, hairy beneath; blade very widely obovate or widely obovate, 2.5-5 x 2.5-4 mm, hairy beneath. Inflorescences 1-5 per plant, 1-7 cm long, 1-5-flowered; peduncle erect, 1-4 cm long, with long non-glandular hairs and smaller glandular hairs. Flowers with sepals narrowly ovate, joined at base, 2-3 x 1-1.5 mm, reflexed at anthesis, margin entire, with long non-glandular hairs and smaller glandular hairs outside; petals white or pink, spathulate, 3 x 1.5 mm; stamens 2.5-3 mm long; pollen tetrad 50-65 µm diameter, spines very dense, 1.5 µm long, more than 50 µm2; ovary with 3 styles, bipartite near base. Fruit after ripening cup-like; seeds ovate or subglobose, foveolate, 0.30-0.4 x 0.15-0.20 mm, covered with granular wax.
