Characteristics

Herb with fibrous roots. Stem erect, to 15 mm long. Leaves 15–30 in a convex rosette; lamina orbicular to suborbicular, 3–5 mm diam., on slightly flattened petiole 5–7 mm long and 1–2 mm wide; stipules 3-lobed, 3–6 mm long, the mid-lobe bi-or tri-furcate with bifid or entire segments, the lateral lobes bifid. Scape 1, 5–12 cm long, glandular, 4–15-flowered; pedicels 2–4 mm long. Calyx 4–5 mm long, glandular at base, divided for 3–4 mm into ovate-obovate lobes, the margins entire to eroso-dentate. Petals obovate, 5–10 mm long, white pink, red or bright orange. Styles 3–5, simple, subulate, 3–5 mm long, dark purple or white.
