Herb with tuber; vertical stolon 2–6 cm long. Leaves in a rosette; lamina spathulate to obovate, sessile, 2.5–10 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, often reddish. Scapes 3–40, 3–15 cm long, 1–4-flowered. Calyx 5–6.5 cm long, divided for 4–5 mm into ovate-lanceolate lobes, sometimes punctate. Petals obovate, 8–10 mm long, shallowly notched, white. Styles 3, each divided into many filiform segments.
