Herb with tuber; vertical stolon 4–8 cm long. Stem erect, 10–40 cm long, glabrous. Leaves alternate, sometimes with secondary leaves in upper axils; lamina almost reniform, 2–3 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, peltate, on petiole 2–3 mm long. Inflorescence a small panicle, 2–5-flowered; pedicels 5–30 mm long. Sepals narrowly elliptic-obovate, deeply concave, 8–12 mm long, entire or rarely denticulate, glabrous, iridescent golden-green. Petals narrowly obovate, 7–10 mm long, deep red, sometimes pink or white. Styles 3, flattened, much-branched, with dark red or white filiform segments.
Grows in laterite in Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) forest, on granite outcrops, and in sand over clay.
