Characteristics

Rosetted herb with fibrous roots. Stem erect, to 15 mm long. Leaves 20–30; lamina suborbicular, 2–3 mm diam., on petioles 4–7 mm long and 1–2 mm wide; stipules 3-lobed, 3–5 mm long, the mid-lobe trifurcate and aristate, the lateral lobes with 2–4 linear segments on the inner margin. Scape 1, 2–5 cm long, minutely glandular, 3–7-flowered; pedicels 1–2 mm long. Calyx 3–4.5 mm long, glandular-hairy, divided for 2–3 mm into obovate lobes; margins entire, or irregularly dentate at apex. Petals obovate, 5–8 mm long, dark red-orange. Styles 3–5, simple; stigmas distinctly clavate, 1–2 mm long.
