Characteristics

Herb with fibrous roots. Stem 1–2 cm long. Leaves up to 15, in a basal rosette; lamina orbicular-reniform, 10–20 mm diam., sparsely glandular, on flattened, slender petiole 15–45 mm long, dilated and fringed at base; stipules minute, reduced to 2 gland-tipped trichomes. Scapes 1 or 2, very slender, 10–18 cm long, sparsely glandular, 4–8-flowered, with an apical vegetative shoot at maturity; bracts linear, 1–2 mm long; pedicels 3–5 mm long. Sepals lanceolate, 2–3 mm long. Petals obovate, 2.5–3 mm long, obtuse to truncate, red. Filaments dilated at apex. Styles 3, bifid, 0.5 mm long.
