Characteristics

Herb with fibrous roots. Stem erect or suberect, 10–60 mm long, often branched and covered by old, grey leaves and stipules. Leaves many, crowded; lamina narrowly elliptic, concave, 4–6 mm long, on slender, terete petiole 10–15 mm long; stipules 3-lobed, 3– 5 mm long, the mid-lobe almost entire or with 1–4 fimbria, the lateral lobes setose on inner margins. Scapes 1–3, 3–4 cm long, glandular or pilose, many-flowered; pedicels 2–3 mm long. Calyx 4–5 mm long, divided for 3–4 mm into narrowly lanceolate entire lobes, glabrous or sparsely pilose. Petals narrowly obovate, 3–6 mm long, white or pink. Styles 3, simple, subulate 2–3 mm long; stigma papillose.
