Characteristics

Herb with tuber; vertical stolon 5–10 cm long. Leaves 10–30 in a flat rosette; lamina flabellate, up to 25 mm long, 6–10 mm wide, the distal margin red, abruptly narrowed to flat petiole 5–8 mm long. Inflorescence 1, maturing before leaves develop fully, paniculate, 2–6(20)-flowered; peduncle 1–2 cm long. Calyx 6–8 mm long, divided for 5–7 mm into ovate, acute lobes. Petals ovate, 6–8 mm long, white or pale yellow. Styles 3, each divided to base into many filiform segments.
