Characteristics

Small tree, c. 6 m. Branchlets terete. Leaves chartaceous, slightly ash-coloured, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, rarely ovate, 6.5-9.5 by 3-4.75 cm; base cuneate; apex acuminate; margin sub-entire or remotely slightly serrulate; nerves 4-6 pairs; ± obliquely spreading towards near the margin and then turning upwards; petiole 5-10 mm. Infructescences axillary simple cymes, sometimes on the top of a very short branchlet. Peduncle 7-12 mm. Bracts deltoid, c. 0.5 mm long and wide, short-ciliate. Pedicel 4-6 mm. Flowers unknown. Fruits clavate (young), 4-ridged, c. 16 by 7 mm, apex obtuse and slightly apiculate.
