Characteristics

Evergreen shrubs, climbing; branches terete, twig sturdy, brown or dark brown. Leaves clustered at apex of branches; petiole sturdy, ca. 3 mm; leaf blade elliptic-obovate, 8-10 × 3-5 cm, thickly leathery, base widely attenuate, margin sparsely crenulate, apex cuspidate or acuminate; lateral veins 5-7 pairs, prominent abaxially. Flowers not seen. Capsule few, terminal on branches, nearly globose, 7-9 mm in diam., purple, densely spotted with small white dots when dry. Aril orange-red. Fl. unknown, fr. Sep-Nov.
