Receptacle subglobose to obovoid, 1–2 cm. in diam. when fresh, 0.5–1 cm. in diam. when dry, sparsely puberulous, smooth or pusticulate; wall thin; apex plane or (in large figs) prominent when dry.
Figs in pairs in the leaf axils, sessile (or on peduncles 2–9 mm. long); basal bracts 1.5–2 mm. long, persistent.
Leafy twigs 2–3(6) mm. thick, glabrous or sparsely minutely puberulous, periderm not flaking off when dry.
Shrub or tree up to 5(8) m. tall, hemi-epiphytic, sometimes a liane.
