Characteristics

A strangler fig that climbs over rocks. The leaves are 6-10 cm long by 3-7 cm wide. The fruit are round and hang down and are 10-15 mm across.

Environment

A lithophytic species restricted mainly to sandstone outcrops, but has also been collected from limestone, laterite, and quartizite rock formations (Dixon 2011: 8). Grows in monsoon forest and beach forest (Zich et al. 2020); skeletal soils, sand over sandstone, laterite, dolerite, quartzite, on rocky sites above water (W.A. FloraBase, accessed 12 January 2022).
