Leaves arranged in spirals; lamina elliptic to oblong or subovate to subobovate, 6.5–15(22) x 3–7(9) cm., subcoriaceous; apex acuminate to subcaudate; base cuneate to rounded or subcordate; margin entire; both surfaces glabrous; lateral veins (4)6–12(14) pairs, tertiary venation reticulate; petiole (0.8)1.5–7 cm. long, 1.5–2 mm. thick; stipules 2–8 mm. long, up to c. 4 cm. long on new flush, sparsely puberulous or glabrous, caducous.
Receptacle ellipsoid to subglobose, 1.5–4 cm. in diam. when fresh, and 0.8–2.5 cm. in diam. when dry, puberulous or almost glabrous, greenish to pale orange or brownish at maturity, with pale green to whitish spots; wall c. 1 mm. thick when dry, not or hardly wrinkled.
Figs up to 4(10) together on spurs up to 1.5(4) cm. long on the older wood; bud scales of the spurs ± glabrous; peduncle 8–25 mm. long; basal bracts 2–3 mm. long, caducous or persistent.
Tree up to 15 m. tall, or sometimes a shrub or liana, often terrestrial or sometimes hemi-epiphytic.
Leafy twigs 2–5(10) mm. thick, minutely puberulous or glabrous, periderm not flaking off.
Figs rather long-stalked in pairs or clusters on older branches below the leaves.
