Characteristics

Tree up to 10 m tall. Branchlets 5-8 mm thick, puberulous to villous. Stipules 1-1.8 cm long, striate, appressed-puberulous to-pubescent to villous, caducous; petiole 0.7-2.5 cm long; blade coriaceous, narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, (5-)10-21 x (2-)4-8 cm, apex acuminate, base obtuse to rounded, margin subentire, glabrous above, brownish-tomentose or on the primary (and secondary) veins villous to pubescent and for the rest puberulous or glabrous beneath, tertiary venation prominent beneath; secondary vein pairs (5)8-14, tertiary veins ± reticulate. Figs in pairs in the leaf axils, globose, 0.7-1 cm in diam., brownish-villous or almost glabrous, sessile; basal bracts 2, 2-3 mm long; ostiole ca. 2 mm in diam., surrounded by a 3-lobed rim.
