Leaves in spirals; lamina coriaceous, oblong to subovate, sometimes subpandurate, 19–26(–45) × 8–13(–17) cm., apex acuminate, base obtuse to subcordate, sometimes cordate, margin entire; upper surface glabrous, lower surface glabrous or white to brownish hirtellous on the lower part of the midrib; lateral veins 6–8(–9) pairs; tertiary venation ± reticulate; petiole 2.5–8.5 cm. long, ± 4 mm. thick, epiderm flaking off when dry; stipules ± 2 cm. long, free or basally connate, glabrous or sometimes white strigillose, persistent..
